Province

The Society of Jesus is organized into administrative areas called provinces. A provincial superior, appointed by the Society's Superior General, governs each province and is responsible for its men and works. The provinces are organized into assistancies and there currently ten assistancies around the world. In the United States, there are ten Jesuit provinces, each one maintains is own headquarters.[1]
