The Church was built from 1953-1954. It was only meant to be a temporary building but when attempts were made in 1971 to build the permanent building the efforts were turned down by the Archdiocesan Finance Commission. Wings were added to the sides in 1992 to increase the capacity the building could hold. The parish population has increased over the years and has now reached over 6,000 members. Due to the major constraints posed by the current builing and the increasing population of the parish in March of 1999 a building committee was formed to make designs for a new bulding.
