Cheverus High School is a Jesuit high school located in the United States in Portland, Maine. It is located in the New England Province of the Society of Jesus and was founded in 1917. The school was originally founded as a Diocesan school, but administrators welcomed the service of the Jesuits in 1942.
Currently, this co-educational college preparatory school enrolls over 500 students and instills in them the Jesuit philosophy of "men and women for others." Its graduating seniors enjoy a 96% placement rate at colleges and universities around the United States.
