From Ignatian Wiki
The Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) is an organization founded in 1970 that is located in Washington, D.C. whose mission is to serve its member institutions, the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. Although each college or university is legally autonomous with their own boards of trustees, the 28 schools institutions are united by their common Catholic and Jesuit heritage. According to the AJCU website, "The Association serves as a facilitator for various cooperative initiatives such as fostering Jesuit, Catholic identity and institutional and international collaboration, educating for a faith that does justice, supporting leadership initiatives, and developing a distance education network."
